A Mother’s Love

“I” remember when I was young,

we had such fun, Playing with you

Mum you told me to take care,

and then you we’re there

When things went wrong

I know there were times when I was so bad,

And  there were times I made you so mad

But then you cuddled me with your mother’s love

You stood by me when things went wrong

You Said be strong, you were there for me

There were times when you would scold me

But then you came back just to hold me

And comfort me with your mother’s love.

Mum remember when I was young

we had such fun

Mum I love you

Mood Music

I don't know whether it because I am getting older, but I seem to be getting into “Mood Music”. And what do I mean byMood music? The kind of music that is relaxing & soothing, where you wouldturn the lights down low, open a bottle of wine and relax in your favouritechair whilst listening to smooth nice music.

When I write this typeof music I start with a simple tune, add simple harmonies andcounter-harmonies, adding different instruments and gradually building it up. Itry to write original material, with an unique sound, but it’s harder to getpeople to understand what you are trying to do when you’re trying somethingdifferent.

I’m mainly inspired byBeatles and Bach: The Beatles were the first group to mix classical music withPop, with songs like Yesterday & Eleanor Rigby. But the classic style musicwas just a backing track, saying “Here!I have the simplicity of a pop tune and if you listen to the mix, there areinstruments in the background playing different melodies, blending in and out”. And Bach was very good at creating these kindof scores. If you listen to BrandenburgConcertos you'll understand whatI mean.

But as I write“Royalty Free Music”, mainly for charity, I realise that people want somethingthey can use to put on the web, or for videos - or maybe just a snippet for 20second adverts. So when I write my own versions of these types of piecesthey’re a little more simple, lending themselves quite well for this kind ofuse. It’s not expensive and most help charities such as TY GOBAITH – HOPE HOUSENorth Wales Children's Hospice, the local hospice to where I live in Conwy.

The Singer Or The Song?

Is it a great singer that makes a good song great, or is it that a great song makes an average singer sound great?

There are many great performers, and being Welsh two come to mind immediately: Shirley Bassey & Tom Jones (both reported to be playing in this years Diamond Jubilee celebrations). And there's no doubt that they can make any song sound great.

Many artistes have proved their worth with their longevity in the music business, like Elton John, Madonna and - more recently - Robbie Williams, Lady Gaga and Adele. I'm sure you could name many more. And with the same token, there are many one-hit wonders, having just one great song, with a good voice which then disappear from the charts never to be heard of again.

There are many songs sung by not such a great singer also hitting the top of the charts - Lee Marvin singing "Wondering Star" comes to mind. There is also the quality of the production of the record. The Beatles were masters of these, with songs like “Hello Goodbye”, which proved that point. With hardly any lyrics and a repetitive tune, it is magnificently and cleverly produced to bring out a piece of art.

So, is it the singer or the song? Certainly the right song for the right singer is the ideal combination. As well as writing melodic instrumentals for businesses to use Royalty Free for their projects (currently available at www.royaltyfreemusic.me.uk), I also write lyrical songs, as well as love songs.

I write lyrics on many different and interesting topics, and if you are a singer or a band looking for original songs, please aslo check out http://vibedeck.com/eirianlys.

The X Factor Is No Factor In Real Muisc

People ask me as a musician of what I think of shows like the X-Factor.

Personally, I think that in regards to this show, we need to get one thing in perspective - and that it is to realise that it is nothing but a show - a competition and a talent show created simply for TV entertainment purposes. It's not about real music or musicians.

All it is, is a totally over-hyped, out-of-all-proportion production created by a TV studio in the editing suite, with the sensationalism of the national and world media, which is then is all helped along by Simon Cowell. And he is a person who knows all too well that all publicity (good or bad) is essentially all good.

It is absolutely not the be-all-and-end-all of music. In fact, one would argue it has very little - if anything - to do with music at all. The basic fact of the show is that even though they look like they're trying different genres of music, their basic format is exactly the same. They do not try anything creative or new, and most certainly no one is allowed to write new songs for it.

So my final answer in regards to what I think of the X-Factor? It is not music, it does not represent music, and there is no creativity involved. Except on the behalf of the press and production company, perhaps. Real musicians write real music, and that is where real music can be found - with them.

This is why, on my Royalty Free Music site - http://www.royaltyfreemusic.me.uk/ - I try to write not only different genres, but also different formats, and I try to be creative and melodic in my ideas.

I am a person who believes more in the music rather than the celebrities.

Just take a listen to my site and you will understand what I mean.
Enjoy!

Your Royalty Free Music

Your Royalty Free Music Starts Here... If you wish to join in this new venture

I have just created a new website for Royalty Free Music: http://www.royaltyfreemusic.me.uk/

I am offering you the chance to submit your music for consideration to be put on
my website.

I know that a lot of people have written and recorded good quality music that has
never been heard because the music industry believes it is not what they are
looking for - maybe it's simply not the popular genre of the present music era?

So the CD gathers dust on the shelf.

But there are people out there looking for music for projects both business &
personal use.

And they don't want to pay threw the nose for Royalty fees.

So this is an ideal vehicle to match the two together.

If you want to be a Celebrity or an artiste then this is not for you.
It's totally about the music
.

This won't be big business or make you mega bucks, it just a way to get your music
out there with a chance to make a few pounds. It more of a labour of love.

How it works:

1. It is free to send in your music track, either by SoundCloud link, e-mail, CD,
tape or vinyl record, and we will accept any category genre. It's the quality
of the production & sound is more important than the style of music. Home
produced recordings will be suitable as I could improve it by putting it
through my Master-suite studio system. I have only space for about 20 songs, so
it will be on a First Come, First Serve basis.

2. I will put it on the web site at the category of your choice and at a price of
your choosing.

3. You will need to sign a contract and not belong to any Royalty
collection service like PRS. You will always keep the full copyright and
intellectual properties of your music and you can cancel it at any time. The
music is put on the site free of charge and we only make commission when the
item is purchased. If your music is sold as part of a set compilation then you
get paid pro-rata.

Further Details and Some T&Cs:

As an introductory offer I have many tracks for £1 download, however this is only
there to get the site launched and generate interest.

There will be a charge of 15% with a minimum charge of 30p of the total price. With
this there will also be Paypal charges. This breaks down - for example -
thusly: Price: £3.00 = my commission of 45p +
Paypal for 30p [approx] = £2.25 for you).

The Customer pays for a download with Paypal, which will deposit into my account.
Within 48hrs you will receive your payment to your Paypal account (if you do
not have a Paypal account then you need to open one, it's ery easy and
completely free).

For transparency I will e-mail you the Paypal invoice with their charges, and the
website is also linked to SoundCloud, so you can always check for download
activity. Your music will be uploaded to my SoundCloud site and is linked to
the webite.

The first download is shown because it has been downloaded on to my site so that
people can listen before they buy.
With a lot of tracks on the site, your music link will be moved on a rotary system and will
continuously move so that everyone will have a top listing in turn. Customers
can browse by Genre Categories, which will narrow the search. I can't promise
that you will get anything out of it, but your music will be out there, and
there's a chance that someone will download it.
The site will be available worldwide and therefore has a potential to reach
thousands, if not millions, of people. As I have only just opened it I could
use all the help I can get, to get it known.

Once your track is on there, I will ask you if you can make links on your social
networking site and send them to your followers, as more people who visit it,
will then give your music a chance to be heard and bought.
It probably won't make you a fortune, or famous, but it will put your music out
there, with a chance of making a few pounds. Or you can donate the money to
Charity - I support my local children's hospice “Hope House”.

Music For All

The Music industry is obsessed by the pop charts as that where the money is.
A fast buck, usually short lived. Mainly aimed at the very young with bubblegum music. Then there is the “artist”, the celebrity, which tends to be more important than the music.
To many people like me, who are perhaps out of touch with the modern music fashion of the day, and like writing music, we have a perception that there is no outlet for today's market. Or is there?
With modern technology today, many people are making projects either for social networking sites, personal videos and photo slideshows. Legally they are not entitled to use copyrighted music for public, educational or personal broadcasting. They therefore generally tend to require "Royalty Free Music" for them, so they are not leagally responsible for royalty feees for using other people's music.
When I look onto most Royalty Free sites they have what I call “default” music -mainly basic, unmelodic music, sounding a bit thin. With modern software, music loving-people, like me, can have a recording studio music package at an affordable price and create something with very reasonable sound quality, enabling us to make a new mix blend of sounds and music harmonies - perfect for home movies, websites, You Tube videos, photo slideshows, and so on.
I wanted some music for a family holiday themepark visit and as I could not find suitable music - so I wrote my own, which became “Funfair Fanfayre” (available to listen on www.royaltyfreemusic.me.uk).
It was ideal, fun carnival-type music for my project.I am sure that there are a lot of people like me who records there own stuff, and are not accepted by the industry elite because it not suitable for the present fashion. But I am also sure that there are many people who are (like I was) searching for music for different projects, both for business and pleasure. But with confusing royalty copyright laws, and with more and more people uploading things onto the internet - often using copyrighted material - it leaves them open to be sued, and also to be liable to pay a possibly large sum of royalty fees as well.
After all, it is only right that the people who created the sound should be rewarded.
With this in mind, I thought that the music I create (and also which others create) could be available for the use of the purchaser to use as they want, with no need to worry about Royalty laws. As they are my creations, it is therefore my right to offer this initiative to them. And so I created a new website, where people could choose to download inexpensive, well-made music pieces for a fraction of the cost that other Royalty Free sites are offering.
You can listen to the music on my webstie, and if you like them you can download from only £1.00 per track (compared with $10.00 or more on some Royalty Free sites)
The music on this site covers many genres and styles - from pieces full of fun, happy catchy tunes, to the relaxing, melancholy, soothing and also experimental. Ideal music for your projects.
Please feel free to check it out, let me know what you think - and if you're possibly inclined to do so, please get in touch if you would also like your pieces to be put forward for consideration to be added to out webstite catalogue:
Thank you for reading.

Introducing Eirianlys: Royalty Free Music

I am a writer of themed instrumental songs and I have put together a song package set comprising of instrumental pieces that have a fun and entertaining atmosphere of carnivals and funfairs. These pieces would quite well be ideal for people’s personal projects, home movies, photo slide shows and other personal amateur projects, as well as business projects such as advertisements, websites, and other commercial projects.

The pieces are well-produced and clear recordings of boisterous and happy, catchy tunes that are already showing to be very popular on SoundCloud, where the songs are currently being downloaded and, more recently, purchased for a small fee via the website. Their popularity on SoundCloud has shown that there is clearly a market for these songs, and I believe would prove to be popular both in Europe and Worldwide.

With the pieces being Royalty Free Music, this allowes the license to transfer to the purchaser for Commercial Enterprises and “free to broadcast” music for their own commercial use. As I believe in the music and the product, not about the artist, I believe these music sets would have a good place in personal and business use, I have been looking into having these distributed to be sold without PRS fees to pay. As they would work well as background music for shops and offices, in commercial websites, or as fill-in music for radio stations, I believe that they would sell well as Royalty Free Music packages and would help fill a clear gap that is in the current music market for small businesses non-professional multi-media creators and new entrepreneurs.
